ok, i want to know if i can drive the m80Ti's to get pretty loud with an HK 3480. I have heard very good things about HK. the receiver is rated at 150wpc at 4 ohms (the m80Ti is 4ohms). the M80Ti is rated at 400watts max power and has a 95dB efficiency (1w/1m). I don't actually know what that in particular means, but in a review I read that it means they are relatively easy to drive. Please help me!

In a nutshell, the higher the efficiency rating, the louder a speaker will play at a given power level. At 50 watts, a 95db speaker will play a lot louder than one with an 89 db rating at the same 50 watts. Most speakers usually fall between the 87-90 db range. The m80Ti's are much more efficient than those, making it 'very easy to drive.'

ok, another question, the HK3480 at 4ohms is said to have "< .2 THD" will this be terribly noticable?

I can't say for sure. The only way is to hear it. Try to compare it with other H/K's with lower THD%.
