Mom's got new digs, so guess who's goning cross country to build her a 'nice little' HT ?
I could sure use some help from the wiser folk here!
Here's what i've got to work with...
Living room environment, 9' ceiling, carpeted TV mounts above fireplace (not *my* design) recessed in wall Mantle could hold mid-small bookshelf speakers Center channel speaker a big ??? right now (may have to raise TV) Have about a foot to 18" of wall either side of fireplace to work with Couch sits about 10' (?12) back from TV 3-4' walkway behind couch Rear wall available for in-wall or shelf mounting surround speakers Sub placement undetermined
Have Denon 3300 for AVR Have a pair of Infinity Reference E-L's that could be incorporated Have DVD and VCR devices
What i need advise on...
Speakers (L-C-R, Sub, ?surround) TV (recess is 40"w x 40"h x >20"d)
Budget is $800-$1200, give or take. Mom's hearing is quite good, but being a septagenarian i'm sure the upper end could use a bit of tilt-up. She does connect emmotionally with sound so non-fatiguing is a valued sonic trait.
Thanks all in advance. I need to get this right on the first go-around so i'm hoping the accumulated wisdom here can help me do that.
