Nice guide. From what I have seen and heard, the Yamaha RX-V750, RX-V1500 (+$100), Denon AVR-2105 or for a $100 or so more the AVR-2805 (worth it for the Amp), or for a little less the Pioneer VSX-1014 (an absolutely screaming bargain IMHO) or the Kenwood VR-8070 (nice review on laaudiofile site). Yamaha has always been a good reliable reciever and offer a lot of features and a bit brighter sound than most (good for laidback speakers), Denon likewise but has a tiny bit more laidback sound, the Pioneer has a warmer sound and great amp section. All my opinion of course... Good luck -Rick
