I have a 99 Mercedes Benz C-Class and I am in desperate need for a great sounding stereo system, and by great I mean clean and clear.
I have a few friends that have some older sound equipment that, back in the day, was worth quite a bit.
Friend number #1 has a Alpine Head unit CDA-9833 which he'll sell to me for $200
Friend Number #2 has some older speaker equipment (I figure this is worth about $100 - $150) 1 pair of A/D/S/ 320i component speakers and crossovers 2 2-channel 60-watts Soundstream D60 amps
Friend number #3 has some older subwoofer equipment. (I was going to offer $250) 2 Soundstream Rubicon 15" woofers 6-channel 50 watt Nakamichi PA-506 amp
What do you guys figure it is worth, and are there components that you would recommend to upgrade to significantly improve the clarity of this system.
I just ordered some Q-Logic Q-Form Kick Panels to install the component speakers. I'm hoping these will help improve the sound.
I'm planning on removing the stock 6" subs in the back of the car, and seal in the 15" subs in the trunk. I hope the 15" wont be too sloppy with the bass.
