Can a amp w/o crossover power a sub?need help

my amp is 400x1 @ 2ohm and the sub im trying to get is reaudio SE 600watt rms thermal at 4ohm. Can i power that sub by the amp without any crossover?

Not having a cross over in your amp is fine. However you will need to use a low pass crosover somewere. If your head unit has one it should be fine. If not you need to install one inline with your rca. Most car audio shops will carry an inexpensive 2 channel crosover. Try to find one that has a cut off between 70 and 80 herts.

If you want a really good crossover and don't mind spendng a little more look into audio control.
