on a side note, the JL 1000/1 produces over 1000 watts RMS of power from 1.5 to 4 Ohms. The output and power supply are regulated so regardless of load, or input voltage, the amplifier still produces the same amount of power.
This is a big plus if you don't have a 2 Ohm load to present to the amplifier.

while the MTX is a nice amp, the JL is still a better product.
The retail on the 1000/1 is $1,199, however it can be bought new, for a street price of $650.

With either amplifier though, JL or MTX, you'll need a high output alternator in order to use the amplifier. No car in the world has a stock alternator that'll supply an extra 100+ Amperes of current over top of what the car needs to run.

Don't get me wrong, the 81000D is a great amplifier. It's a perfect match to a pair of S12 or S15L7 Solobaric subs (4 Ohms ea)

Whoever ends up with the amp will be very happy
