OK its been years since I installed a full system and I wanted to get some advice before doing this. So I have a old jeep that I am fixing up to just be a occasional toy and decided to buy a cheap system to throw in it so I bought 2 Rockford fosgate R2D4-10 subwoofers and a pioneer GM-D8601 800w mono amp. The subs are 250 watts RMS and the amp is 300wx1 at 4ohms, 500 watts rms at 2ohms and 800 watts rms at 1ohm. So my question is if my memory and research serves correct the amp should be anywhere from 75%-150% of the RMS value of the sub. Going by that math I can basically eliminate 4ohm wiring as an option. 2ohms would put me right at 250watts each but in everyone's opinion is 1ohm wiring too much? That would put each sub at 400 watts correct? The sub says 500watts max but I learned many years ago to never trust max values. Thank you ahead of time.
