Links at bottom..

So I recently bought a new sub to replace a blown sub I had. I just want you guy's opinions on how to set my gain/bass eq/lpf. I just installed the new sub myself and set the eq(see imgur pic) and started smelling the same smell I did on my last sub when it was blown. I forgot about the break-in-period. It was brand new and I cranked it. Once I smelled it, I turned the sub off immediately though. So a little help please

I'd like to add, I did the sub installation myself. I installed it just like the manual said to. 1 amp + 1 sub = wire the sub down to 2 ohm via parallel. So I know it's not wired incorrectly. I used 16 gauge wire. I think the longest piece of wire is 2 foot.

Get a DMM and as the system plays make sure you stay above 13V at all times at the input terminals of the amp with the car on, then use the subsonic filter of the amp, also avoid using bass boost so at 0 dB, you can borrow or buy a SMD DD-1 to set your gains.
