Do cvr's or any subwoofer require a break in period when new? Is there a smell the first few minutes of playing? Some say a break in period is required some say it's a myth. One guy called kicker and a technician said no. What's the deal??

You answered your own question there. To simply put it, again, don't worry about it. I always took it "easy" the first week with new subs just because but it's not necessary.

It says in the manual 2 weeks break in period (page 3).

Not everyone agrees!

So do during the break in period, what you have to watch? Does everything have to be turned off? Bass boost on kicker amp on 0, gain on 1/2, loudness on low, sla on +2, etc.?

Just stay on rated power, they will go lower, it's not a dramatic change anyways just a few Hz down.
