Hey guys, my friend is looking to spend about $600 on a new setup. Looking to get opinions on what i've came up with so far.. Sub - SSA Dcon 10". Sub box will be custom ported@32hz hoping no much more than $80. Amp kit will be like $80.. Comps will be MB Quart ONX216 which are $110 on woofersetc.. Now i need a 4ch or 5ch that will sufficiently power the comps and sub and needs to be under $200, but if i have to and if necessary, i'll go to $250 and throw in $50 for him for the amp.. Suggestions? His car is a 2008 Saturn Astra hatchback. He's just looking for a little low end and better, powered speakers than stock. Thanks

Do u have a sub amp already? If so what is it? What kind of music he like most? Aftermarket HU? How loud he want it? And it looks like ur lookin for a good budget sq setup, how much room available for box? Cuz I would suggest a 12"

No, don't have a sub amp.. Was hoping to try and get a 5ch amp though so he doesn't have to have 2 amps, and it would cost more money.. i'm not sure on how much more he'd be willing to spend. He doesn't have an aftermarket HU yet.. But i think his stock would work fine for now or we could hopefully find a used one for super cheap. He doesn't want it super loud, that's why i thought a 10dcon would be good.. Listens to mostly rap and r&b. And as far as the size of the box, about 1.5 cubes.

How about this:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?tag=ecoustics&path=tg/stores/detail/- /product/B00273CGI2

Or even this (do your research on this one please):

http://www.audiosavings.com/products/5-Channel-Car-Amplifier/CADENCE-F100-5-1800 -WATT-5-CHANNEL-CAR-AMPLIFIER-NEW/F100-5.aspx

Less watts for more money but NICE name:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_34760_Rockford-Fosgate-R600-5.html

The sub is alright, ported specs are: 1.25 cu.ft. @ 28-33hz.
For a 12" ported specs are: 1.75 cu.ft. @ 28-33 hz

The comps are alright also, you can get them for $79 here:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23077_MB-Quart-ONX216-ONX-216.html

For an amp wiring kit:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_38900_Stinger-SK4641.html

You should do your sub box on spec, not a prefab.

If he doesnt have an aftermarket HU, does he have a hi-low converter? You need some method to get a line level signal to the amp.

Assuming that is a non-issue, I found this Cadance amp on woofersetc.com http://www.woofersetc.com/p-10209-f100-5-cadence-5-channel-1800-watt-high-power- amplifier.aspx . I have no experience with it but cadence is a decent company. If this amp does rated power, it is more than enough for your needs.

Look into a SA-8 they are like 90 plus shipping. I would look into a aftermarket HU.

Here is a budget amp.

Try and pinch the budget elsewhere to get a decent HU. All that good equipment needs a good input
