1000 watt amp with capacitor?????

If im running 2 power acoustic 10" fubr subs with a memphis mc1000d amp (4 guage wire) in a 2004 dodge ram 1500 (hemi engine) that is COMPLETELY stock (no idea what size my stock alternator is) do I need a capacitor???

lol. capacitors are used for peaks. When the sub draws peak power and u have the capacitor it can draw it from it, instead of a peak draw from your battery, thus no strain on the vechicle eletrical system . It's a small investment in your system and is worth it.

I say get one...

You proably should beef up the alternator aswell :-)
