pyle, dhd, boss, are all cheap subs. its almost not worth paying $50 for them though. save another $100 and you can get a good sub thast will last longer and out perform those cheap ones.

Kicker comp cvr 10 inch sub should be close on that list. Or xtants lower end sub. Check out www.sounddomain.com and check out the xtant subwoofers or check for them on ebay you can get them for under 50.00 and they are a decent sub.

for 50 bucks and plans for say 300 rms power to an amp id say try a kicker comp 12 in a 3.5 cf sealed box from the curves on box program ive used should hit very well. Me and my cousin did this kicker comp 12 not the vr and i measured him at 126 db with a profile 400 watt amp at less than three quarter gain in about 1.75cf sealed including polly fill but after lookin at kickers site and seeing it can perform in a 3.5 cf sealed box and is intended for an sq use and it greatly increases our best hit frequency im going to get him to put the speaker in this size box sealed and see him hit even more spl and sound better.

thanks,

in search of bass

cost= $76 amp $60 speaker plus the cost to build your own box

kicker Comps or Comp VRs....both are good subs

my first system had a pair of Comp 10's and an IX402 amp...i recommend them for anyone on a budget.
