Alpine 15 type r in a sealed box

Hello i have my alpine 15 inch type r in a 3ft ported box right now with a kicker 750.1 amp and it pounds i got the loudest system in my school but i want to try out a sealed box for the winter. ive been researching and alot of people like a 1.75 cubic foot box sealed for the 15 type r. anyone have any sugestions or comments? will i ruin my sub? just looking to make a new project in woodshop and try it out!

definitely can't hurt it. you will lose a little bit of output but should gain a little more "punch" to it. you must have a small school. lol.

Why would you go sealed when its ported now? just busywork? Also, If you can, I would make the sealed box a lil bigger, kill the lows and good frequency range

I would do 2.5-3 cubes sealed. Tuned to 30Hz in 4-5 cubes would be better until 20-25Hz.
