Hello, i currently have 2 100 watt 12" sony xplod subs in a sealed box. I plan on selling these, does 150$ sound accurate??? Anyway i have 1000 watt kenwood amp pushing these sony's now. I plan on keeping this amp and getting new subs. I can get 2 alpine type Rs 12" subs in a ported box with the wires and screws and everything for 310 dollars. will my amp push these and in the price range of 100$ to 500$ roughly, what is the best bang for my buck. What subs can i get that will sound the best, stay in my price range, and allow me to be able to hear my music still. thanks

Is that a good price for them or could i get better. My cars REALLY small so i think it will powered good. Is that amp good enough that i have for them or i need to upgrade. Also when people ask me what subs i got i say sony laughing to myself and they sit in astonishment going...NOOOOOOOO, they're suprised they sound that good for sonys lol

i listened to the kicker L7's personally, 2 15" subs in a box in a SUV, i hated the way they sounded, to be honest IMO they sounded like sh*t, now that my ONE experience with them. But yeah

uhh, sell it all... and get something good... what would your total budget be, how much room do you have to work with, what head unit do you have, what are you looking in terms of sound, big bass, nice tight bass to enhance your listening experience or clean and loud? what is the saturn, do you have stock speakers, if not what are they?

Okay, im not looking to have the best system in my area, just an upgrade from my sony's. To be honest i can spend hundreds and hundreds but id rather be on time with my college and bike payments and car...Its a 1993 saturn SC2. I have almost no room to work with. These 2 sonys in a sealed box almost are filling the space i have to work with so thats why i scared of getting a ported box it might not fit. My door speakers are 50$ kenwoods. I have sony tweeters in the front by my side mirrors on both sides. I have 2 6x9 clarions in the back seat above the subs, i think i blew the drivers side one the other day listening to no hands wacka flocka...Anyway thats my setup oh yeah and a sony deck.

ppl that dont know much about audio know who kicker is, and know l7 are badazz, which they are. So chances are that the guy whose L7 you heard didnt know much about audio and everything wass all distorted cuz hes an idiot. I have seeen Soooo much of this, and a couple minutes dial tweeking will get it sounding good. But get the Charger, though for realz

Its a 1993 saturn SC2

my brother had a saturn....one 12 type r would slam in that car and it wont stress the stock alternator you wouldnt need two....just port the one and not in a prefab box

500 Watts x 1 (4 Ohm Bridged)

get a dual 2 ohm 12 and wire it to 4 ohms....that power is perfect for one 12 type r

cause ported im almost positive it wont fit, but sealed might, sorry to bother with the ?'s but, whats a better sub for the money than this since one sub will be better then my sony's. I can get the alpine type r 12" in a sealed box for 190, if i can get one sub in a ported box for 200 300 that blows the r away which would still work on my amp, that be awesome

absolutely sealed box volume: 0.57-1.0 cu. ft.

go with 1.00 cubic feet each and two sealed will be as loud as 1 ported...get two dual 4 ohm 12's

okay so verdict is, my amp the kenwood, will power two type r's 12" in a sealed enclosed box that i can get for 309.99 with wiring and screws and it will be how much of an upgrade from my sony's. Will bass overpower treble to the point where i cant hear my music.

so i will completely get it now if you can answer this, my amp is 500 rms, each amp is 600 rms or each is 300 rms, and if its 600 each equaling 1200 rms full power, 250 rms each with my amp will push it fine, if i undertsand lol

The L7's sounded bad because they're designed to get loud and that's it. The Alpine subs will be a much better improvement over the Sony's in every aspect possible.
