i have two r500-1 rockford fosgate and im trying to find out how large of a fuse i should use at the battery right now i have a 60a (as instructed by manual) to one of the r500-1 and im planing to use the same 4awg to the distrb block and run 4awg to the two amps so my questions are:
a) how large of a fuse should i use for the main wire
b) should i fuse the amps after the distrb block

You would be good with any fuse over 70 amps, by using the equation (amps = watts/volts). I am assuming that each of those Rockfords are 500 watts rms and at a constant voltage of 14.4. I would recommend at least a 100 amp though. If your worried about the amps then why don't you just get a fused distribution block instead of a non fuse. You really don't need to fuse after the distribution block though, just to answer your question. But, by all means if you want to then do it. It can't hurt.
