I picked up an 18" Fi SSD and wanted to know how I should position the sub and port.

Going in a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500hd ext. cab (back seats out obviously) ...port/sub up or forward? Or I think I could have enough space to fire the port into the door from about 6 inches or so away, but I dont know if that would be a good choice.

Just a daily beater, SQL, going to be tuned to 33hz on ~1000 rms

I know of many applications where sub up/port side (as door) works well. But in a lot of trucks, people usually do subs up/port up.

ya I have seen several applications with the port firing towards the door but they were all in SPL applications with the panels off...I'm not taking my door panel off and not going for numbers, just loud to the ear...if that changes anything

I know Canaan has done a lot of work when he was competing with his truck so kind of hoping he'll chime in with a little something

I'd do it up and up.

For daily driving...sub and port up.

Sub as close the passenger side as you can get it, port close to drivers side. Try ~7.5-8cuft.
