cwruck - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6855_Polk+Audio+MOMO+MMC6500.html

€hritoheR - ty ty, the amps cost me $710 combined. i am very excited to hear the SAX-100.2, i am hoping it makes my front stage sound better than the old cheep amp i was using.

sean - this build has been in the works for a while now so i am very excited for it and to see what every one thinks of it.

more like 1600 watts, as i am running it @2ohm's and its a ported box built just a tad bigger then min ported spec, also has cooling and extra spider. it should be rather happy and i can all ways turn the sub down from the HU if need be.

wow, 1600w into the Q. I'm interested to see what that will do. I would recommend adjusting your gain in small increments during the break in process- not the full 1600w at once.

as glasswolf has stated before the gain is not a vol knob, i will set the amp for 90% on the HU and turn the sub channel down to -2db or -3db that should even every thing out.

..yes I was not implying the gain was a vol knob. What I meant was since that amp is a beast and at full power it will potentially will raise the thermal temperature past what is recommended for your sub (up to 1500w with cooling), I recommended that it may be best to take it easy on the gain during the break in period. During this period your sub will not be as 'loose' and move as much hot air causing it to heat up a bit more than a broken-in sub. You would probably be fine putting the full 1600w into it though some may prefer to stay on the safe side specifically when breaking it in when its most vulnerable. I may just be too over protective about my audio equipment.

That being said turning down the sub channel like you intend to do will have the same effect in this scenario.

Anyways it looks good and I am looking forward to hearing how it preforms. I have a 15" Q running at 1200wrms with no cooling so I cant imagine how good yours is going to sound with 1600wrms.

Im looking foward to a review on this thing too. Should sound pretty sick! Ben,how do you like you Q? I just ordered one,an i to will be running 1200wrms to it. Just curious how you like it? (Btw, sorry for the thread jack)

I love the Q! I've had it for nearly 3 years now and have nothing but good experiences with it. It does an amazing job in hitting the lower frequencies and has enough sound quality in the higher frequencies for listening to music of all genres. I have enjoyed the low bass though I sometimes wonder how it would preform in a sealed box where it will really boost the response. That may be the only thing I would ever consider changing.

System looks cool tho, you should enjoy it.

i hope so, i just slathered my floor in sludge beacouse it wasn't getting out of the bucket fast enough for me. i personally would not use sludge again unless i had an suv and wanted to coat the whole floor or do an under coat.

not as loud as i want, hoping tuning and break in time will fix some of that, but i also spent all weekend at SPL shows. also crawled in to a truck with 1 bl 12" on 1200rms and that was loud, lol, how ever your box got some nice remarks. when it hits it feels like it hits "lower". again i will give more feed back after i get all settled in.

Dude, I love the ending. Seriously that was sweet. Anyway, from what I can tell you got what you wanted, SQ. Looking good. Keep it up and keep us updated. I am going to have to wait to get me amp tested for output, I have no way of hooking up the battery. Sorry man, if you can wait, I will let you know. Have you contacted Mike at powerbastards? You could at least get a price.

http://gcs8.serveftp.net/TDP/new%20box/DSCN0762.JPG

got metered to day, for got to turn my gain knob back up and the Q still is not broken in yet. so i may be looking at more like a 139 - 140 after i get every thing back together and tuned the way i want. the run was done with the EQ flat, bass 0, and sub channel 0 (no + or - on sub channel.) 137.2 was the best i could do on music. 138.6 was best burp for to day.
