I would like to know how impedance rise, would affect me as a regular
everyday user. When i first put my treo tsx in a box wired in series
it read 5 ohms, now (after beating the hell out of it) it read 7.9
ohms.....quite bizare..... i have a zx1500, from what i have read on
other forums, some ppl run subs at 1 ohm, to counter imp rise, i just
want to know if that idea is totally ubsurd or is it makes sense
whatsoever. I would just like to get the most out of my amp, also
would a fi q with the most options in a sealed enclosure be able to
hande that amount of power, with the gains set properly of course.

wiring at 1 ohm wont stop impedience rise, its just going to happen.
how is it going to affect you? the same way it does with everyone else, if you dont know about it you probably have no idea what it is, but its happening to you and your system is still running just fine.
if your coils impendience rised thats not a good thing, i would think your coils are going out on the sub.
but if you mean run at 1 ohm to try to keep more power to the subs, then yes that can happen, its always best to try to get the most out of your amp. now if you look at it that way, why not run .25 ohms all day long off 2 dvc 1 ohm subs.. well very few amps can even drop down that low and that would be for burps, so just a few seconds.
basically just run whatever you can at 1 or 2 ohms depending on your amp to get the most power available
with the q get the I heat ring and spider for durability as options and it will handle your amp just fine, also since your doing sealed add the high qts as well

ya i would think that means your subs coils are going bad.. probably from too much clipping

yea, if your sub is reading higher resistance now than when you first installed it...you have problems.

either a loose connection or a damaged sub.
pull the sub and make sure all the connections are good.

if you're testing with the sub disconnected, or not playing, then it's not impedance, it's DCR (resistance.)
