What's the difference from a 12 slope or 24 slope? I switched my sub amp from 24 where I always had it, to 12 and I think it sounds a little better. Whats technically going on between the two, and is there any pros or cons with either one?

So using a 24 dB slope, I'd have a sharper drop off than using a 12 dB slope.

exactly!
the benefit of the sharper drop off for a sub is that it keeps the vocals out of the subs and keeps them tighter.

For mids rolling down from a HPF, you can go shallower and let them roll off closer to their natural curve which is usually about 6dB/octave with no filters at all. 12dB works well for a HPF
