I'm pretty new to this, so i want some opinions on choosing an amp. I'm buying two 12" Kicker Comp subs, and I can't decide which amp to buy.
Would this amp be a good choice to power those subs? It was recommended to me at the shop i was at, and I can get a better deal when I buy everything together.

To help choose an amp, look for the rms you need, at the ohm load you need/want it at. The ohm load will depend on your voice coils of the subs. Then when you know how much RMS is needed, find an amp that fits your budget. If the amp seems too good to be true, it probably is. You get what you pay for.

alright, well I'm getting two of the subs, and each sub has 300Watts Max and 150W RMS, and the Amp I posted is 500Watts Max and 250 Watts RMS. Is that over-powering the subs I want? Also would that be bad for them?

You want to look at RMS ratings rather than total wattage ratings.

I'm getting the kickers because I don't have very much money (no job) and they sound decent for the price. Plus i'm still in high school. Eventually i'm going to upgrade to a whole new system with a W7.
