I have a 7th gen '03 AV6 EX 5A Cpe and wish to upgrade the stock speakers .. I've read that the front tweeters are 3/4" and are easy to replace. This is my upgrade target for now.
My main concern is that the tweeters that I replace them with will not have the same sensitivity as the stock ones .. thus being imbalanced with the front 6.5" mids. I plan to keep the stock in-line high pass filter to ensure flat freq response with the mids. Has anyone done this b4?
I'm thinking I should have a 90dB or 91dB sensitive 3/4" tweeter. Anyone can confirm? Would a 1" tweeter fit? I'm not driving any amps for these speakers, thus it's just the 30wx4 head unit.
I also like smooth highs .. thus I'm trying to stay away from metal dome tweeters.. and more leaned towards silk dome tweeters. Any recommendations? Anything would help.
