I have 2 JL Audio 12" W3 subs, and i was wondering if the Kicker KX400.1 amp would be sufficient to power them. It look's like a pretty good amplifier, and i dont know if i should buy it. Is it worth it? It's a mono amp, so i wondering if my system would sound good if i didnt power my speakers with my amp. Anyways, to get to the point, i was wondering if a mono amp would sound good just hooked up to my 2 subs. Do you have to hook them up to your speakers? Would it be better? Im an amatuer at all this stuff, and i need some serious help...thanks
Try a little bigger amp. Go for a 600watt RMS MONO amp. JBL 600.1 would work good with them. And run your car speakers off the head unit. Use the amp to run the subs not the car's speakers. Also do you have the 2ohm or 4ohm version of those subs??
