Try an older car (not from the 80's though) or go for an SUV. I've got a Dodge RamCharger thats like a tank... it experiances a little bit of rattle but its quite solid and has lots of room for whatever you want.
Lincoln town cars are notorious for trunk rattle. The key for them, so I've seen before, is to fold up a blanket, or something along those lines, to put pressure against the trunk lid. If rattle is an issue you could always spring for some sound deadner.
