Hey guys,
Ive been rocking a 12w7 for a while on a 1500 rockford fosgate amp toned down to 3 ohms. I love the SQ and it hits every note. I just got another 12 to increase the loudness in and outside of the car. Some people told me I should get a down firing box, any thoughts?

That should be a fairly nice increase in sound getting a 2nd w7. You're going from 750 rms to the one to 625 to each 12 now. Be sure to adjust your gain to the new ohm load though. If you need a custom built enclosure talk to this man above.

I wouldn't downfire. There is a reason why you dont see anyone ever downfire subs unless its a center console enclosure.

Ok well, next question is..

Is it worth it to drop the money just for the loudness, Will it be significantly louder? Obviously more rms will be used, but will the addition of another w7 hit hard enough to see a huge difference or should I expect a small sound increase?

In a properly designed box, you sound see a pretty big increase in sound.

How is your single 12 box designed?

It may be precived as louder, but on the meter i would expect a 3-5 db increase.

I went from a
1 - 13.5 w6 on 1000 watts = 138db
2 - 13.5 w6's on 2000 watts = 142db
