I just recently purchased a punch 800 2chan amp, and 2 12" hx2 subs. im trying to find the best way to hook them up and the best eq settings for them(pioneer premeir 760 deh unit). What can my amp and speakers handle(1 ohm stable?)? as of right now im running them in paralell (not bridged) to my amp with LP crossover on around 120hz cutoff and my eq setting is at 80hz my hpf is set at 125hz. any suggestions? this is my first time running in paralell and i dont have a clue what series does... just let me know what i should do plz...

if the subs are dual coils, wire the coils in parallel
put one sub on each channel of the 2 channel amp.
set the XO to low-pass
set XO Freq to 80Hz
turn off any EQ or bass boost settings to adjust this
set gains to match head unit line voltage.
then after all of that is working, set your head unit's EQ to your liking.

no setting them in parallel will just change the load. so that you can by a 1 ohm amp to power thm which will get you more power for the dollar

I have the amp and sub below and have never had a dual coil sub before. what would be the correct way to wire it to the amp? One cannel for each coil or bridged and in parallel? Any help would be great.

Kenwood KAC-7201:
• 150 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
• 230 watts x 2 at 2 ohms
• 460 watts RMS x 1 bridged output at 4 ohms
• stereo or bridged mono output
• 4-ohm stable in bridged mode
• Tri-way capable (Tri-Way Crossover required)
• MOSFET power supply
• variable low-pass crossover (50-200 Hz at 18 dB per octave)
• selectable high-pass crossover (150 Hz at 12 dB per octave)
• selectable bass boost (12 dB at 90 Hz)
• preamp- and speaker-level inputs
• preamp outputs
• cooling fan

Audiobahn's AW1000Q 10" subwoofer:
• dual 4-ohm voice coils
• non-pressed pulp cone
• huge foam surround
• frequency response 23-500 Hz
• power range 50-600 watts RMS (300 watts per coil)
• peak power handling 1,200 watts
• sensitivity 91.1 dB

first off youd need to get a bigger amp. for your setup you would have to run one channel to each coil i would suggest getting a new amp that runs at 600w X 1 @ 2ohm. then you can parellel the coils so its a 2 ohm load and get them the power they both need.

I am going to eventually get a bigger amp, but for now what would be your best recommendation (with what I have)?
