Alright, I'm tryin to figure out what amp to get for two 04 12L7's i heard the 2ohm version sounded better. would a BX1500D CLASS D AMP 1500 WATTS amp be able to power these good? or what amp would be best for these two subs? also, if it matters it's going to be in a ported box.

are they dvc 2 or 4 ohm. The different ohm versions doesnt matter or that has to do with is how you can wire them.

Yea if those subs are dual 2 ohm then yes the amp will handle it. Wire the coils on the sub in series so that each sub is now 4 ohm. Then wire the subs to the amp parallel so that the amp sees a 2 ohm load. I would get a MTX Thunder1501D amp to push them.

but it won't be runnig at 1500 watts on 1 ohm, as apposed to 1000 watts on 2 ohm?

That MTX amp is plenty of power for those subs.
