I recently purchased 2 12" Alpine Dual 4 ohm Type-R Subs. They are just sitting at my house because i dont know what amp to get. I was thinking either a Hifonics, or Rockford Fosgate. I really wanna install the subs but i want to be sure i am getting the right amp. PLEASE HELP

X2 on adam. Quentin have u run a hifonics? If not shut up. And of the four amps you listed which have you used? I'm running a hifonics under 1ohm and it works great. And its not even solid electrical.

I think you did something wrong. My BXi2608d plays great. I've run JL amps, diamond, memphis, RF, clif designs, and many others. The best SQ came from a JL 13.5 and RF500. Just wasn't loud enough. Any way I've personally seen ppl run the AQ1200 and RD1000 and they're very happy. So that's what counts.

Plus I wanted to start some shite Quentin so don't get too butt hurtl ol

Aq 1200 over rd 1000.1 version 2 all day everyday. N yes I have used the rd 1000.1 v2.Not very reliable imo. I switched back to my hifonics which has had zero problems in the past year I've had it until I bought a rd 1000.1 version 1. Love my 1000.1 v1 much higher quality on the version 1 rd amps. I believe andrew capps is sellin a rd 1750 v1 bnib. Don't kno wag he's askin. Jus an Idea n personal input

None of my local shop will bench mine. Or they can't. I'd like to see how it is. I won't deny them being over rated. I just think some ppl like to jump. On the bash wagon too much lol

Im sure this is probably the stupidest question. Since the subs are dual 4 ohm, how much power is good for the amp to be putting at to it?

How much power should the amp put out at 1, 2, and 4 ohms?

for your subs all four positives (subs voice coils)will be wired to the positive terminal on the amp. Neg's to Neg terminals.

You have 4ohm subs but you are going to wire them like this ^^
and by doing that it'll be acting as the subs are 1ohm.
THEN you find a amp 1000 watt amp that's a 1000 watts at 1ohm..

THEN you'll get your wishes..

"I want the subs to bang as hard as theye can with out blowing them up"

-------------

the amp isnt going to put out the power it puts out at 4ohms.. cause you are going to wire the subs to 1OHM.

Most people say anywhere from 2.0. 2.25 cubes per subwoofer.

What are the smallest dimensions that i can build the box for the 2 subs? My trunk is real small because i have a spare tire in it.
