i am thinking about getting this amp off somebody for around 150 bucks to push my 10" RF power hx2 it is dvc 2 ohm, so im wiring it to 1 ohm because i heard that these amps are 1 ohm stable and put out good numbers, has anybody had this amp, does anybody know what it puts out at 1 ohm? and if its efficient and stable like some people say. thanks

I have a 1000-1bd and it is rated for 1k @1ohm RMS. I would reccomend RF to anyone, mine came with basically a birth cirtificate that said it tested 1607 @ 14.1V, as far as the older versions im sure there not much different. it powers two P3D412 Great! great cirtury, bout 83% efficient wich is not too bad..for 150 bones i would for sure snatch it! watch the clipping, I would 100% reccommend using an O-scope to set gain NOT BY EAR! they will clip real bad if set all the way up.. couldent find specs on the A so make sure it is 1ohm stable

RF rates the BD1000a1 for a minimum load of 2 ohms but there are people who run them at 1 ohm. I have heard that it will only put out 100-200 watts more at 1 ohm and the current draw is drastically increased, as is the heat. Also, that amp is nine+ years old and depending on how the original owner(s) treated it, it may not have many more miles left in it.

figure it cost about 225.00 flat rate for rf to repair if something is wrong, factor that into your price and then just buy another amp new
