dBlk what do you think of them subs personally, worth the mrsp or just the $79?

Re audio's "RE" series. Look on ebay.

Maybe a phoenix gold rsd? heard good praise from other forum members but have never heard one myself.

i have seen a lot of people in my area use those subs and do very well in spl comps.
3 inch coils. light cone. i think its pretty good. and for 80? can't loose for 80 bucks.
i know 4 people that have the american bass XDs. they all paid more than 80 for them. lol. i don't see any phoenix gold or re stuff for 80 bucks that will hold up to that AB one.
idk. u might be able to find something better but thats the best i see

You ever think of running just a single 12 or 15? You might be able to do better with your budget on just one sub.

this amp looks like a good deal

Man,it sounds to me like you need to bite the bullet and up your budget. If your want subs that slap under 150 pair your market is really slim. As for the better subs than amp deal, you may as well sh*t can that idea all together and get an amp that doesn't suck. Find a decent amp online and then look for it on ebay, get a good deal on it. You buy a cheap amp though, your gonna be regretting it in no time. Keep your eye on rms watts though, match them up the best you can

I went the opposite way and tried to find a couple decent amps (hopefully they are) before finding a sub & speakers. I think the idea is that your power source is your foundation for the system... once you have a fairly solid foundation you can build on that according to what your amps can actually put out. I only look at RMS (and even then be skeptical)... and never pay attention to max watts/ max bridged watts etc because I think all those numbers are fairy tales meant to try and sell stuff.
