Amplifier

Kicker Mono ZX1000.1

Class D
Power (watts) Mono 1000 @ 2 Ohms
Remote Bass Control Yes

Input Sensitivity (High Level) 250mV-10V
Input Sensitivity (Low Level) 125mV-5V
Signal-to-Noise Ratio >95dB, a-weighted, re: rated power
Active Crossover 24dB/octave, variable 50Hz-200Hz, low pass only; 24dB/octave high-pass subsonic filter fixed at 25Hz
KICKEQ Boost Variable to +18dB, centered @ 40Hz
12dB/octave Subsonic Filter defeatable @ 25Hz (ZX300.1 fixed @ 25Hz)
Differential RCA inputs eliminates unwanted system noise
Automatic Turn-On Modes +12V (Remote) - preferred method; uses the remote turn-on lead from source unit; DC Offset - detects surge from hi-level speaker outputs after source unit is turned on; Audio (Signal Sense) - detects audio signal from source unit

Box:
Ported box by Kicker made for those subs.

Questions

-Is that amp good with those subs, or should i get less watt's?
-Should i get the subs in 2 or 4 ohm? Difference?
-Will i have to get a better battery for my car to handle this, I've heard no, but a few people said they did. I just have a regular battery that you put in a jeep.

ok i looked around on the internet a bit and i also found this amp.

Its about 100$ cheaper than the Kicker and its 300 watts more at 2 ohm.

So it has come down to: (tell me what you think)

Amp

VS

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17654_Hifonics+BXi+2010D.html

I think i am definitely going to go with the Kicker CVR 12" (unless somebody can give me a better option)

One question tho, if the RMS is 800 and the peak is 1600, i can safely do 1300 with that Hiphonics amp and those subs right?

a lot depends on what you are trying to acheive.

SQ - Sound Quality
SPL - Loud
SQL - A mix of SQ and SPL

2 audioque sdc2.5 15s
1 Audioque 1200D

$527
Build your own box

that is a good deal. brand new equipment directly from the manufacturer with good customer service and a great warranty. pending a good install - it will get loud

the hifonics will most likely produce less than rated power while the kicker will most likely produce more than rated power. Kicker is also known for building strong dependable amps, and hifonics are known to break for no real reason at all. Hifnonics just doesn't have the quality of kicker when it comes to amps.

There are just so many options to choose from. I really do not know what to do.

I am leaning towards the

Kicker CVR 12" Subs and Box for $280
and
Kicker 08ZX1000.1 for $380

only because so many people have recommended it and on youtube that setup is great.

I'd recommend the AQ 12's also or Fi SSDs. I wouldn't go with the kicker comps. Even a pair of Alpine type Rs would be a better choice. For a box, there are people on the forum who can build you an awesome box for a good price.

^^^ I agree! Dont waste your money on kicker subs. Overrated & overpriced! Do yourself a favor an go with what was mentioned above(aq,fi,dd,type r) Now on the other hand, there amps are pretty good so you would be safe with that purchase.

the cvrs are not that bad of a choice. The main stuff from kicker to stay away from are their square subs because they are known to fail. But like mentioned above i think there are better choices out there like aq or fi. and definitely build your own box to the subs specs, it will bring out the true potential of the sub.

I am really not trying to spend more than $700 for the setup, Box Subs Amp. I am not going for the loudest subs in the world, i just want something that hits pretty good, pretty much enough to make my rear view mirror vibrate. So basically my question is do CVR's do the job and do it good?

Basically, the audioque setup is $527 + tax and would do the job better than the CVRs

thats my $.02 so do whatever you want.

your rear view can shake from 6.5s..

stay away from kicker. reason everyone suggests it is because its on every corner and flea market.. of course people will suggest all they know.

I am pretty sure im going to go with the AQ setup, the only thing i did like about the CVR's is that kicker made a ported box made for those subs.

well if you can afford it.. and have the room.. why not.. if your really on a tight budget.. you'd most likely be more than happy with a single 15" on 1000rms

x2 on the Audioque & RE Audio setup.

I've seen the dual compVR box setup you're lookin at, and just because Kicker throws them in that box, (which is mostly based on aesthetics btw) doesn't necessarily mean that that's an ideal box for those subs.

Again, like you've already been told, don't waste your time & money on kicker subs.

Even one Audioque HDC315 ($269) in a proper enclosure, will slaughter two CompVR's in SQ & SPL.

Trust us on this.

you wont be over doing the bass, you'll just keep wanting more and more and more,

might as well do it right the first time, save you money and time in the future.
