Ok so I have the Kicker ZX1000.1 amp....which is kinda besides the point.....

I know at 2ohms it gives off 1000+ watts......i want to know when i have 2 subs such as the kicker cvr 12's.......are they recieving the full power each, or are they splitting the power....

ex. if the amp is giving off 800w are the 2 subs recieving 800 watts each....or both receiving around 400w each???

How do you have the subs wired? Series or parallel?

If the amp is putting out 800w, then the wattage is being split, thus each sub gets 400w a piece.

Your subs have a combined impedance of 4 ohms, thus the power of the amp is cut to 500w @4ohm. Each sub is getting 250w right now.

If they were wired in parallel, then you'd be running them @ 1ohm which the amp can't handle.

if you have 2 dual 2 ohm subs - you will be fine

wire to option 2

if you have 2 dual 4 ohm subs - you would be either wiring your amp to a 1 ohm load which is too low....or wire to 4 ohms which makes your amp around 500 RMS (250 per sub)

If I'm not mistaken, the Kicker CompVR's are dual 4ohm voice coils and in the configuration that he has, cannot be wired to 2 ohms.

they come in dual 2s and dual 4s

it wouldnt make sense for them to only make them in dual 4s when all of their amps run at 2 ohms

he even said from above posts that he has Dual 2 ohm subs.

Wire them to 2 ohms and then you will see the amps full potential.

lol, I think a lot of us are misreading his first post. He DOES say what subs they are but doesn't mention the impedance of them. Looks like the OP still hasn't clarified. Kinda annoying when we get noob's that don't give us the info we need to help them.
