2 2ohm dvc subs. 2 channel amp.
What are my options? EVERY wiring diagram is for monoblock amps.

Is the amp just 4ohm mono stable?

If so, each individual subs VC's in series...then the subs in series w/ one another. That will give you an 8ohm mono load.

lol 8 ohms? cmon...
And thats for a monoblock amp. My amp is 2 channels.
I think ive decided on http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_2-o hm_2ch.jpg

because the amo is 2x 1000 watts rms.
As in 1000 watts to each sub right?

The amp is 2ohm stable. I have found the wiring configuration im going to use. With will give me 4ohm at the amp.

If its possible to get these subs to 2ohms at the amp. On a 2 channel amp. That would be great. Anyone help?

Well, looks like you can either run that amp/sub combo at 4ohm stereo or 8ohm mono.

The way I posted, you just bridge the amp at 8ohm. That will be the best option in your case.

If the subs were dvc 4ohm, you could bridge at 4ohm.

Btw, you will be lucky to get 800-1000w out of that amp.

why wouldnt i run it at 4ohm at the amp?
And there is no way to wire it down to 2 ohm? Soi then each sub will have 1650. And if its underrated it will still be close to 1000.

You're all wrong!

Here's how you wire them the right way dude.

First, find the nearest wall socket, next take the wire and connect it to the subs. Then stick the wire in the outlet and there ya go! All done!

NO...I don't care what load you wire that amp to...you will be lucky to get 1000wrms out of it. It is HORRIBLY overrated.

The pair of subs you listed can't be wired to 4ohm. Only 8, 2, and 1/2ohm. If you wire those subs to 2ohm and try to bridged that amp, you can say goodbye to the amp. That is why 8ohm is your option.

if you already have that amp/sub setup...i would highly recommend just getting rid of the amp and getting another one.

The reviews you saw where from people that have no idea WTF they are saying. They are the guys that 'got dat slap' and 'be bangin'.

For those subs, look into the Clarion 1500w that is on sale at Crutchfield...its a HELL of a deal for $200.

But why cant the subs be wired to 4 ohm. http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_2-o hm_2ch.jpg

Its a 2 channel amp. Is that diagram wrong?
And if its correct then each sub would be getting 1000 watts. (Probly much less). Is that not how it coul work? And its 2 ohm stable so it should be fine at 4 ohm.

The pic up posted is 4ohm stereo(not bridged, 1 sub per channel). It is the same to the amp as 8ohm mono (bridged). You get the same power either way, but w/ the 8ohm bridged you get a mono signal and both subs play the same, which will be best in your situation.

Here is the Clarion:

Oh im sorry, i forgot to ask what the wattage would be at 8ohms bridged. B/c i couldnt look it up. It would be 2000watt mrs?(supposedly)? And what do you think is its true rating? 1500? 1000? Bridged?

And do u think the clarion is underrated.

Ok, put it like this. I your situation that Lanzar amp will give you ~600w of dirty power...power as dirty as a drunken overweight 28yr old wanna-be pornstar at a donky show in cancun for spring break.

The Clarion will give you a solid 1500w and work perfectly w/ your subs.

Its your call.

Well i purchsed the clarion for 175 bucks shipped. Got a 25 dollar cupon online lol. Thanks alot for convincing me im stoked.

Now im going to use an L ported box thats 40x24x15. Witht he 15inch wall having the port. Facing the front of the car. And the 40X24 side will have the sub facing up tward the trunk. Think thats straight?
Oh yea, 6 inch port. 10 inches long. Tuned to 32hz.
its the very biggest i can make for my car. 5.5ish+cubes total.

Well Butters, you may want to rethink that box also.
If that is all the space you can fit, 12's would be better.

At least you have a solid amp :-)

you think 12s would be louder b/c my box isnt big enough?

Ive recalculated and i can do 6-possibly 6.7 cubes. If i take my seats out. When i put it in.
Think that might cut it?
ill have the port up and subs up.

The box will be nowhere near enough airspace for 2 15" cvx's.. Would be perfect for 2-12's. Do you already have the subs? If not 2-15"AP Epic or 2- 15" RD Sonance would work with that power and airspace.

What vehicle is this?
In most cases, if you try to build too big in a trunk you will hurt output. You literally choke off the airflow into the cabin.

12's are likely a better bet for the size you posted.

ohh yea? i didnt think about that canaan. But i play my subs with my seats down. So the entire wall is missing. Its as if my seats werent there. Think that would help ? and people play subs with their seats up, wouldnt that mean extremly low airflow to the cabin?(maybe thats why mine sound 10x better witht he seats down)

Yes, I would definitely go w/ 2 12's in that size vehicle.

Blocking airflow will kill your sound.

http://www.rdaudio.net/sonance/sonance.htm

call steve (owner of RD Audio) in the morning.
770-975-9100
He will give you a decent price.. Should be ~$400 for two of em.. don't quote me on that.. You will still want D2 v.c. with the clarion amp. Just did the exact swap.. the CVX's were not even worth comparing to the Sonance's IMO.

Well despite your warning i am going to keep the 15s.
I should be able to squeeze a lil over 6.5 cubes in there. And the trunk is sort of a bottleneck so there is still plenty of room but not or a box. And the back seats will be completely down so the whole wall of the trunk will be open. Hopefully it will work out.

Gonna make the box port up and subs up. Unless i find a reasonable way to do port forward subs up. We will see. I might document it as well. Maybe start tomorrow.
thanks alot guys.

Is there any chance you can fire the subs into the cabin?
Like thru the opening behind the seat?

That may work much better.

thats how i normaly do it. But the box can only be 14 inches tall. Bc i have to slide the box in through the back seats when theyre down. Wont fit into the trunk.

My kicker cvr 12s r set up like that in a 4.8 cube box and a cadence 600watt monoblock right now.

But im trying to configure a box with the port forward and the subs up. thats 6.5 cubes atleast. and 14 tall and 40 wide. The sub calculator im using had limits...
