Ipod to two amps?

Hi all,
I posted last week about connecting two amps together, but was strongly advised against it (something about blowing up...).

What I am trying to do is simultaneously use two amplifiers with one Ipod, connected with a headphone jack.

I figure if I can get a headphone jack that goes into two sets of RCA connectors (4 RCA's total), then I should be able to.

I am trying to achieve as much volume as possible.

Thanks,
Jake

if you can find an adapter to get an rca pair (L/R) out of your ipod then you should be able to use y cables to get signal into 4 amp channels.
