From his links.

quote:

I'd call myself a pretty big amateur and I'm pretty proud of this install. My stock speakers are 6x8's and I had like no mounting depth because the guide for my window was like right there so we (my wifes dad and I) did a lot of customizing and well just check it out for a complete rookie and a 50 year old man we did a badass job.

got them to seal into the doors vs the door panels.. your door panels are not sealed.. so the response of the driver will not be as good.. midbass mostly will be affected although you may have a hollow sounding midrange

Never thought of it like that but still either way it might be mounted on the door but that goes with me saying the mounting depth was so much that it still goes all the way into my door just like stock speakers that's why I had to make the cut on the metal of my door because since the panel pushed it to the right some the magnet still wouldn't have gone in. Get what I'm saying? I see what your saying that but that might make a difference to what your saying it might not I don't know

They sound really good, loud and crisp! And for those moments when I went a little extra bass they can definitely keep up and not get drowned out.
