hey im looking to get a box built for my 15" DP. Im deciding on the tuning of 3.7cuft @ 33.6hz. any one with experience know how would the DP sound in that box? is 4" port width too big? just need to figure out what tuning. i want it to hit the highs and lows good. working with about 33"x17.5"x18" thanks.

1999 toyota camry.

this is what the guy from ca.com said:

Ok, I got 3.7 cubes at 33.6 hz (It'll be a tad shy of 3.5 after subs' displacement), has a 4" wide port with 64 sq inches of port area!! External dimensions are 34" wide, 17.5" high and 18" deep.
LMK if that works for you!

do you think that port is too big? i wonder how it will sound with the DP. do you think it will hit the lows an highs good? thanks[/quote]

Hello! It's a pretty big port....which will def. get some air flowing, lol! It'll def. hit the lows like no other and it'll have the potential to extend further than the IA DP will want to play (smoothly and safely)! LMK!

is 4" port too big?

being that you are in a trunk and firing back, I would tune to ~38hz 'on paper'. It will load in the trunk and tune much lower in car.

Try a 16"t x 3.75"w x~24"l port...w/ a box w/ externals of 34x17.5x18

after all displacements, that should ~3.75-3.7cuft (depending on sub disp) and tune to around 37-38hz on paper.
