SQ is trash, good for SPL only. Fi and DD build far superior subs..... everything kicker makes is hyped because they are a mainstream brand that all the noobs think is great.

Thats what i keep tryin to tell all the noobs who tell me i should have got a solo x because it can 5k rms, big whoop.

I couple of months back I went to the modified nats and kicker had their hummer there with its two solo x's all my friends got it into their heads the solo x was the best (like everyone does with the Jackhammer) until i showed them an old cilo at the spl area, which doing the same with a single 18" DD

i'm not saying they don't get loud, all i'm saying is why buy a solo x, when you could better drivers for similar or even less money.

To be honest i'm not bothered what a driver can do on a burp.

obviously not ...

but in all honest is that sub made for a daily driver application .. absolutely not .. do some people use it that way absolutely .. and alot are satisfied .. whatever floats ur boat...

no one asked u if u were bothered by it ... i stated what the sub is by being around .. ask brockman or rob who both ran solo x;s for extend periods of time ... both of them will tell u they had good out and expierience from them

the btl is a street beat woofer thats designed for spl .. good enough to run 2k to 2.5k daily

the solo x is not ...

obviously everyone who has ne expierience in car audio knows kicker woofers arent the best built ...

This isn't true, I ran mine daily for a long time before I got stupid and blew it with a 5hz tone while being drunk =/

If you take care of your subs they'll last you quite some time. If you're a noob and irresponsible you're going to blow any sub up. Obviously some blow up easier than others do.

I said they were good for SPL.
Put then in a real SPL install and pile the power to them.

I have seen ALOT of SoloX 12's crack cones.
Not fried coils.
Kicker has been known to hand out recones like candy at finals.

The cracked cones was an issue when running too much power and when the sub bottomed out. This is the reason current cones have been reinforced with bracing. You're right about Kicker handing out recones like candy, everyone knows that and that's why their competitors push their sh1t beyond it's limit and blow things up. There's too much moving mass for these subs to be more durable and that's one big problem with the squared subs.
