how do i tell the rms wattage of something that is wired to a lower ohm load?
i know it can be done i just didnt know how.

for example.
a kicker zx 2500 is 2500 rms at 2 ohm load

how many watts would it be at 1ohm or .5 ohms

you would have to get it benched to be accurate

are you interested to see what your amp is doing at .5 ohms?

if so, DJ could probably tell you

ya i was wondering what a few amps would be doing at .5 or .25 ohms

aq2200 at .5 ohm

a pair of aq2200s at .25 ohm

kicker amp zx2500.1 at .5 ohm

a pair hifoncis brutus class D 2600s at .25 ohm

and thats all i can think about for now

i doubt you could run the zx2500 at .5ohm

stick with the AQ2200d at 1/2 ohm and see what happens. you need a HO alt and a good battery at least

There are guys (Team Kicker) on CA.COM that can answer this. I had asked this question before actually called tech support at Kicker and was told that the gain would be minimal due to the power supply regulation. He said (think it was Mitch) that I would gain more in heat than anything and if anything it would be only a few hundred watts but the amp would eventually fail. Now I know there are mods that can be done but you will need to ask Team Kicker. I had a strapped set of Kicker sx1250's running at 1ohm and you could not tell a difference. Had a single running at .5 ohm and the same thing. Now if I run my IA 40.1 at 1 ohm then at .5 there is a very audible difference, like going from 12V to 16V system. One thing you will notice is that the draw is immence and if you do not have the power it will pop. Polo.
