Im just waiting for the arrival of my Diamond Audio S600's and my kicker amp to power them. My car currently only takes 4" speakers in the front, I have to do some modifications.

I was wondering, can I just cut out a big enough hole and fit them in or do I got to build some sort of little box around them to make them sound as much as their worth?

I doubt I got to make a box but im just making sure. I know so far im going to be sound deadening my front doors.

Thanks for any help guys,

Chad

take your door panels off and see if anything is blocking your way to make the hole larger.

yea theres a little base around the speaker, not made of anything important though. But these comp speakers are defently going to surpase that base

if the back of your doorpanel is a few inches away from the metal surface of the door, get like a .75" to 1.50" ring and the speaker could clear, possibly without any cutting required.

Yep, in order for speakers to sound good they need a good enclosure you're right about that.

Sometimes you have to get creative with modifications..... heres what I did
