Lol, your GTP is much faster right? I'm pretty sure his AWD Subaru is pretty quick. On another note, backfiring FTL.

I didn't do a fly by.. once I hit the camera I hit the brakes.. you can see the car dip doing by each time...

The back fire is because I'm letting off from WOT.. that happens if you run a BOV 50/50 or Full atmospheric

My car is not built for running the 1/8th or 1/4.. its a 5eat AWD.. there is no launching and to run a track its all in your 0-60foot time

I'll Just have have to shoot some more videos since you think my car is slow :-(

I didn't mean it like that @ss! Never said my GTP was fast, it has over 400lbs of stereo equipment in it. For all the things he has done to the subaru it doesn't have the spool power it should, maybe it is in the gearing or just isn't hitting the top end like he should? BTW Chad for power you can't beat a Turbo on the top end. For a lower RPM torque monster a supercharger is good, below 14psi. Here is a vid of a honda with a supercharger, sounds good anyways http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXepvlCweS0&NR=1. Polo.

its a 20g.. full spool is not till 4000rpm

heres my problem with my car.. its an internal wastegate so boost is regulated and changes per the load on the motor.. at lower rpms there is less of a load so less boost

in 2nd gear i peak at 15psi where as shifting into 3rd jumps over 20psi

its just built for the hwy :-)

Then you need to get an adjustable so you can dial it in from the cabin. I love turbos and when my kids get a little older I will build another car. My new car will be a non-transverse GTP coupe. That means I will build the sh!t out of the GTP motor which comes with 4 bolt cross drilled mains, extra thick cylinder bores and has the potential to be super powerfull. The engine is a strong @ss engine but being transverse it is limited to the one tranny and it breaks right around 400whp, the car weighs in at around over 3800lbs! By turning the engine around and making it rear wheel drive I can use a detroit locker differential, turbo 400 or a super built 350 or even maybe a nice Tremac 5 speed. After doing all this I would most definately make it twin turbo, interccolers and all but right now kids are more expensive so that will sit on the back burner for a while lOl. One of the fastest off the line cars I have seen is a built WRX, that thing was sick and the top end was sweet also. You wanna see a sick grand prix gt, check this sh!t out and it still is front wheel drive and turbo powered!Polo..>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzM2Gytw4rQ

you get what you pay for.. all that is.. is a resister to make the ecu think its getting colder/more air so it dumps more fuel

that is at most of those "chips" .. its just a way to make money.. im willing to be if you opened some of them up there is nothing in them lol

lol alright.

kev, i talked to some people on that forum about turbo vs sc for my car. the thing is with the sc, it will pretty much just bolt on with minor mod. i will need to get new radiator and battery but thats about it.

with the turbo, there's alot of piping, intercooler, new radiator, battery, bov, and few other things.

also the ecu can be a bit of a problem with turbo. with the sc its not a problem at all.

now the downside to sc is that it will only give me 4-5psi. thats barely around 60whp to my wheels. i don't think its worth it for me to spend 5+ grand to only gain that much. i don't care how awesome the whine sounds. lol.

so turbo it is. i just need to find a good installer/tuner. the guy quoted me $700 for labor on the sc. not sure how much turbo will be though.

yeah and that guy doing the group buy is almost done with the kit. he will install it on someone's accord and tune it. when that's that done, he will start building it for the group buy.

i think ima upgrade the turbo though. i don't want to use the turbo from china even though he inspected everything.

you don't want to go too small and choke yourself

alright gotcha.

now i just need to start buying piece by piece and when its complete, i have to ship it out to this guy that can make it in to a kit for me. then he'll ship it back to me and i find an install/tuner.

on and after that its motor upgrade from my current 3.0 to a 3.2 tl-s motor.

he can make it into a kit? sounds fishy.. why could he just not tell you the pieces you need to buy and you buy them?

consider the gt30 or gt35 for turbo options if you want garrett.. both would be good for a 3 liter

just be careful because both have the potential to kill your motor/trans lol :-)

yeah i'll becareful.

if its the same flange type turbo he uses i don't see the need of him having to have the turbo to make piping since it would be the same as what he currently makes

just hate to send someone something so valuable.. might try local first

Diamond Member

Post Number: 22264

but doesn't he need the turbo so see if the pipings fit right?

also after the turbo, ima change out my motor to 3.2L acura tl motor. ima stop modding my car after i hit the $15,000 mark. that will include tein ssp coilovers, front and rear tower struts and rear sway bars, and few other things. lol.

and lets not forget a set of brembos.

i would not do the motor swap.. just rebuild your 3.0L .. for the same money doing the swap you could have rebuilt your motor to handle a lot of torture.. and get the most out of your turbo :-)

"consider the gt30 or gt35 for turbo options if you want garrett.. both would be good for a 3 liter "

Uhh...no. It all depends on what kind of 3 liter. You have no idea how a "3 liter" will perform in regards to surge. If you want the best performance you have to get a PROPERLY sized turbo that will give power all across the board and not just peak HP. Figuring it out requires a bit of math and understanding of compressor maps. An engine with 375 hp with a awesome powerband will easily smoke a 500hp engine that makes 500hp peak at 9k rm with horrible output in the midrange. This could be caused by dreaded turbo lag or having too large of a turbo.

turbo lag.. meth injection fixes that :-)

you can change midrange by simply adding that or doing porting work on the throttle body ect.. even port matching the header to the head

Meth injection can help spool but that still doesn't keep you from dangerous levels of surge.

yes.. your talking about running two turbos.. one smaller and one larger

you'd be out the price or turbos.. monies for custom fabbed piping.. even if you have the room somewhere for them

motor rebuild.. lots of little misc things

itll get pricey

trying to find a tuner for that would be a b!tch

for power twin turbo

sequential turbo setups are good for low end torque and high end power... but you make more with one large turbo than a sequential turbo setup

either one will require a motor rebuild

just stick to a single large turbo.. idk if you'd be able to find a tuner for a sequential turbo setup let alone find a place for two turbos under your hood
