IIRC, Ice Guard is the same stuff as Peel-n-Seal.

If so, yes it works.
I have 3 layers of peel-n-seal in my roof and 2 layers on the back wall. Its good even in 100deg Louisiana heat. Just make sure you clean the surface w/ acetone before you apply it.

Up north we call it "flashban". The stuff roofers use to seal around vent pipes and chimneys and such. (Did it for 7 years). Tar base with a flexible metal backing. Form it around and blow torch away. Very sticky.

Also, if it is cool outside...use heat gun to warm it up before appling.

Sounds like it's worth giving it a try. Let me know when you are planning on installing it.
