Hi guys, the subject for today is cheap power.. i need 200w rmsx2 at 4 ohms, (4 channel bridged), right now the one is winning is a profile 1040.. does around 225wrmsx2... any other amp for the money, that's the range of power i need.

The cheaper the better, don't like buying High end brands LOL! yeah xD

good idea with the Profile, but I would bet against it actually doing 225 x 2. I would expect more like 175-200, but still quite a bit of power for $100.
There's a CEA06 compliant Jensen at sonicelectronix.com for $99 + shipping. Should be a good 250x2 bridged. Looks like a great deal.

marc i can speak for kole audio, those 4 channel amps do the work, i bought one for a friend pushing 4 6.5 and it works perfectly, no problems and it's still working after a year.

i think i'll go with profile or that PG, really liked the looks on that line

Yikes is this a battle of the crappy amps or something, lol. IMO the only decent brand mentioned here is PG so I would go with that one.

haha crappy amps always rule, you just need to know which ones maintains some quality and their ratings.

I'll go with profile, best bang for the buck and bullet proof.

I still like that Jensen. <$120 shipped, CEA2006 Certified for 468w, and a 1 yr mfg warranty.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_11747_Jensen+Power+Plus+1304.html

Could be the new Profile.
I've always considered Jensen and Profile to be about equals anyway.

in numbers, the jensen looks superior IMO.. but.. IDK opti.. i've seen the profile, we've wired it at 1 ohm and it went to protection once, it behaved very well and still working... ihaven't messed with jensen and that's why i'm still vouching for profile.

i just need a lil push to buy that jensen haha can you persuade me? LOL!

Can I persuade you? Doubtful.

I owned one Jensen amp in HS (15 yrs ago). It was some POS 25x2 or something like that, but I paid next to nothing for it and it worked fine.
I just think any budget amp that gets CEA2006 certification has a big advantage over the competion since it's basically a guessing game as far as actual power on just about every low cost amp.

The phoenix gold v 752 puts out 75 watts rms x 2 at 4 ohms

and the Profile AP600 is supposed to be 100 per channel and has a higher fuse rating but is it as efficient as it claims and the signal to noise is supposed to be better and if thats true thats good....M.S. is right the profile amps do tend to run hot I owned one way back and my cousin owned one from the more recent years and they both ran on the hot side when run for a while in bridged mode....im not sure how they do in stereo but you could ask Yanks Fan if his gets hot because he owns a profile amp that he is using to run his components

RMS Power Output (Watts x Channels) 100 x 2

I used to run old an school 100 x 2 Jensen amp bridged and that got very hot so again in stereo mode it might do somewhat better but that amp got too hot so unless Jensen improved alot id be cautious of that brand too

thanks sean, i'd like to talk with yanks fan, he used to post in here but now i thik he only goes to subs section.

The profile i'm looking at is 1040, i'll run it bridged cuz i need output at 4 ohms.

If you reach yanks fan tell him to post i'll try to contact him too.

Thanks for the link Sean.

Julio, I've been running a Profile AP600 for my components for the past year and a few months. Thus far, I have had absolutely zero problems with it. Never cut off, never into protect mode, nothing. Only thing I've experienced that I have some concern for is the fact that sometimes after driving with my system turned up for a while, it will be relatively hot to the touch. But with that said, it doesn't help that I have my box sitting about an inch away from it so it doesn't have much air circulation for it. It isn't the best amp in the world by any stretch of the imagination but it gets the job done at a cheap price.

For people on a budget or not much available to them, I would suggest them.

I'll be happy to answer any questions you have about it.

Hot to the touch is normal, but the profiles are known to overheat to the point of thermal protection.

thanks yanks fan... that's the concept i have of profile... the model i'll buy it's going to run cooler due to the fact that i only need 70w rms of 200w that puts per channel so i think that's a plus.

on extreme cases...i might run external fans.

I'll tell you how it goes and sean thanks for your time.
