Tryin to get system ideas for my altima that i plan to put in pretty soon...but the trunk is just so small. it can be about 30 inches wide, 20 inches in depth, but only 11 inches in hight. i was thinkin maybe 2 10's but im not even sure if 10s could fit. i thought about gettin a 12 and facing it up and have the port facing out. i have a alpine mrd m1005, 1000w rms. Anybody got any ideas?

you could do two 10's or one 12 but you only have 2.89 cubic feet total from your demensions so 10's would be kind of tough to do...what kind of sound are you looing for and do you want it as loud as possible or no

i want it loud, but not too too loud too where it rattles everything apart like my cavalier did. its a brand new car so im tryin to keep it nice. i would like good sq and to get pretty loud i guess. i thought about gettin one 12 and facing it up and have the port face back.

You could do a pair of quality 8s. With the right subs, they will get loud and sound great. Say some Soundsplinter RL-i...

the soundspinters would sound better sq wise than the dd 8's and hit the lows better but spl wise the dd's would win and the soundsplinters can go in pretty small boxes

I would like to get like $250 shipped. I could go a little lower if it meant a quick sale.

I will believe people when they say the DDs are louder, but it's hard to believe. No one believes me when I say I'm running 8s and I've even been told it's the loudest setup a kid (newb but still) has heard.

i was thinkin 3 SS RL-i 8s or the new Audiopulse Epics (i think they sell 8s) bc most 10s are really like 10.2-10.5 inches including the gasket and whatnot. I vote 3 Epics or RL-i 8s

itd be badazz smokin people and then they'd be like pop the trunk dude and you have little baby 8s....

or sh!t, get like 4 6's.....:-)

would 1000 watts push 3 Rl-i 8s though?

Yeah it would. Not to the full potential, but close. Why run three though? Then you get into weird impedances and such. I think you would be pretty happy with two (but definitely three as well).

Cal mentioned about doin 3 Epic 8's or 3 RL-i 8's, but if i do 8s ill prolly just go with 2. But im still thinkin about one 12 with the sub facin up and the port back.

Ask around and make sure that kind of design works well for a car like yours. If not, these 8s hit like any other 12 I've heard (granted I've never listened to a DD 9512 or anything.)

how would you compare the RL-i 8 to the JL 8w7

I haven't heard the W7. Based on price, I would assume the JL may be better. That would be a good topic starter tho. I'll start one up and see.
