I bought a pair of JL 10W1s in 1994. I remember debating wether or not to buy 4 ohm drivers and wire them directly to my two channel amp, or buy two 8ohm drivers and wire them in parrallel to the same bridged amp. I can't for the life of me remember what I did, but I would like to use one of those 10s again as a single sub, but don't want an 8ohm driver just hanging out in my trunk barely playing.
So my question, I use a VOM and test the ohms, but no matter what speaker I test, 4 or 8 ohm, I get the same result on my VOM! I test a small 5.25 that I know is 4 ohm, then a home speaker and get the same reading.
