welp im gonna go against the grain and say get the Nine.1 (if its still on sale at 295) bc i have a nine.1 and a nine.4 and havent had any problems, all around great amps, all the techs and customer service people know exactly what theyre talking about, a 5 year warranty directly through ED, no need to bother with middle men and waiting. I vote nine.1

but for the record, kicker and ED are both great companies, i had a kicker zx1500 and a zx350 and LOVED em but changed up my setup and got ED amps and i love them too...i have nothing bad to say about either...those kicker mono blocks are beasts, that zx1500 pushed out like 1700+ watts with the car on....

Seriously how can how possibly say a nine.1 is better than a Kicker kx1200.1?

The kicker is better quality and more power (underrated, they do about 1500 watts)

Oh well that changes things. In that case you will get about 900 from that kicker. So the ED will have a litte more power.

So in that case you have to choose between a little more power or a little better quality.

if i were you, i would rather get the kicker. its the same price as a nine.1, you get more power than the nine.1, better built, and y wouldnt you be able to add another sub on the kicker?

The 1200.1s are also strappable for a rated 2400 watts at 2ohms.I'm running mine at 1.3ohms strapped. They don't heat up,they don't cut off, they can take more of a beating too.

sh!t sorry fellas guess i was misinformed, i didnt realize the kicker put out 1500...

i was talkin to ED and they said the nine.1 can put out about 1400-1450 at 14.4 volts, but a stock charging system that'll consistently be at 14.4 volts is kinda rare...

welp either way, PERSONALLY i would buy the Nine.1, i just like them more i guess...
