What kind of tuning does music like.... Linkin Park, System Of the Down, ect like? Im guessing it would be somthing like a burp box... 50-60hz? Would a DD9500 be good for that or would alpine X's be better since they would be 12s instead of 15" hence less cone area move faster.... i unno lol

^^^^^^^^^^^^ were did u get that statment LOL

cone size doesnt dictate how fast the cone will move

its up to tha manf. on how they design the sub and ur enclousure

subwoofer sizes make no diff its just on how much room you can work with

if you have the 9500 use it forget tha type x

If you want good sounding 60hz+ you should get nice midrange drivers- I'd work on the front stage for that. Atleast if you want any sort of sq. The type-x sounds pretty decent, but output leaves much to be desired. My 18s out hit many 10" systems I've heard, it just depends on the enclosure.

^^and by that I most certainly mean keeping up with the beat in some faster rock, output is a given ;)

Well the thing is it would be 1 DD9515 vs 3 12" Type X's, each X would be on about 1000-1300rms, the 9515 would be on 2500rms. IM just asking tuning because that kind of music wasnt loud at all in my blazer with the 2 9515's tuned at 40hz but was lots louder with 2 power acoustic mofo 12s at 45hz on 1200rms

^agree, and the higher tuning is really because the subs are starting to go higher than (I think) they were intended for. It'll be louder, but with the loss of sq. In that situation the 3 type-xs would have a huge advantage, but I'd still rather have 1 15 DD tuned lower.
