Monday, September 10, 2007 - 01:50 GMT I had two dual voice coil 4 ohm cvx's wired down to one ohm the exact same way i had the cvr's. I turned the gain up and the protect light came on after about an hour. i took the amp apart and one of the little diode things inside had exploded over the circuit board and the plastic around the power wire inside had shrunk because of how hot it got. great BUDGET amp for a couple months but but wont go with it again. Should be fine as long as you dont actually try to get 1600 RMS from it.

Tuesday, September 11, 2007 - 18:02 GMT "I turned the gain up" Did you set the gain correctly or just turn it up all the way??

Tuesday, September 11, 2007 - 22:12 GMT i turned it up a lot higher than what it was, but i dont see how that would make it break? I had to turn it up that far to push the cvx's good

Wednesday, September 12, 2007 - 05:08 GMT The gain is not a volume knob.. "but i dont see how that would make it break" Thats exactly why it broke "I had to turn it up that far to push the cvx's good" If you set ur gains correct you will get the full power out of your amp with out having to turn it all the way up... Please learn what everything means and does in your car audio system...Trust me you will save alot of money in the long run
