those are 8's!? they look like at least 10's if not 12's! sounds real nice and you have room for a couple of dead h00kers in the trunk.

yeah, they're 8's ...they don't look big enough to be 10s or 12's so I donnt see how you get that.
and shhhhhh, the police are already looking for the last H00ker

maybe the box is small or something. the surround usually looks huge on 8's and it doesn't look too big.

Colby, NO ....I consider being able to talk over the bass a good thing, means the bass doesn't drown out the rest of the music. Actually, I would consider the RE's and my whole setup to be more geared toward SQ than SPL. Should sound even better when I get my new Pioneer Premier HU

Mat, hey no problem. I didnt even notice the dent until Canaan pointed it out. and the amp works great. I love being able to turn up the music all the way, and not have it cut out. Hell, with the Jensen, Beats4MyVan didn't play at all, amp would cut out as soon as it came on...lol

My friend has two 15's, and the rest of the music keeps up just fine (2 sets of MB quarts), and you cant hear anybody at full volume and even hard to hear at half volume...

it seems like it acoustics in the trunk not internal wiring......might be me but seems like its more so on the lower frequencies.....but who knows if the cancelation is less when the trunk is closed but still looks like cancellation in what you showed in the video

ok, more info..box is ported, port is on the side. tuned to 35hz. yes they are in a common chamber.
I'll have Canaan check things out for me tomorrow, if he has time.....btw, how can i tell which vc is+ and which is -...use a battery? and if I hook it up backwards the sub moves backwards?

i mean a 9volt battery of course, not a car battery...i might get my tools from work tonight, and check everything, IF its out of phase and I rewire back correctly, won't that make things louder too?

found the problem. took the subs/box out of the car pulled the right sub. the wires from the amp were correct, but the wire from the - on one VC to the - on the other VC was loose..gonna rewire it and try again....more bass?

btw, since it was like that, what was it doing? was the sub actually moving or was it being moved by the other sub?

it was moving but only at like half the volume of the other. when i first hooked up my ssd's i had the same problem. yes, the mass noticeably increased when i wired it right.

everyting rewired, and I also noticed that I had it wired backwards to the amp, so both would be out of phaze...lol, anyway, wired correctly now...and sounds great, but still can't turn volume above 3/4 or they bottom out...time for fun tomorrow

bottoming out is bad ....if they were my subs id go with a smaller box your bottoming out becase the box is too big for the power id say...being out of phase causes loss of db usually

as far as new box, can't do it right now plus I'm pretty sure its not the box but the fact that I'm over the rms wattage on them..

a smaller box will help control that.....you could insert things inside the box to make it smaller....but thatwill raise the port tune which wouldnt be bad since you have the pg 400.1 and a nice subsonic settng to take care of that and see if I was right....then since you have an areo port you could retune if you like it in the smaller box.....im bettin it would be louder in a smaller box with the same port tune....all thanks to extra power
