can a solox spair from 07 fit in the basket of an 05 solox , and can i choose the dual two ohm model, even though the basket is from a dual one ohm model,
ALSO, my amp was wired to the dual one ohm solox model at .5 of an ohm, so of course the amp would fry because its stable at 1 ohm or higher right?
wrong!!! the amp is fine miraculously, but the solox is fried the whole voice coil is blackened onto the metal X shaped cylinder that sits in the magnet.......crazy right? why did this happen
The SoloX fried is because you clipped the ever living $4!T out your amp.
Also, i'm 90% sure the new spares fit. I knew some SPL competitors that were having trouble w/ the cones cracking and Kicker suppossibly made the new cones stronger...I think the motors are the same though.
i've allways wondered what would happen if you took a solox spair and put on a DD 99 or 4hp or some other badazz motor instead of a solox motor what would happen?
what amp was it? and did you have any electrical upgrades? cus running an amp at .5 ohm daily on stock electrical (especially an amp to satisfy the solo x) can not be done without messing something up
You clipped the amplifier and smoked the coil.Yes,the 2007 model SPAIRS will fit on the motor and basket that you have now,there's no difference in the BAM.The only changes to the 2k7 model is the look and the cone has been reinforced(Now heavier and less efficient) but still has the same power handling on the voice coil,just the cone no longer blows to pieces.
