I just recently bought a pioneer premier deh-760 and now want to put subs in. the local shop wants to charge me $550 for 2 10" pioneer TS-W250R subwoofers w/IMPP Cone 500, R/T dual 10" premium bandpass box, pioneer 300 x 1 2 channel amp. im thinkin the cost is way too much....what do you think?

I'm thinking about getting 2 Pioneer TS-W2000SPL 12" Premier subwoofers with a HBX DC12 dual bandpass box and it is considerably cheaper....is that good? what amp would i need if i got those? or would i be better off with the shop deal?

The premiers would hit really hard, a lot harder than the 250Rs a good cheap amp would be a JBL 1200.1, look around online for one under $300. That would be a nice matchup, as the 1200.1 is underrated. Sound Quality of either setup wouldn't be that good at all, but it sounds like you're wanting something that hits.
