i'm trying to keep the box as small as possible, so would it be worse if i reduced the port area from 72" sq in to 52 sq in, or if i reduced the volume from 4 cu ft to 3.6 cu ft?

that should work...are you using a slot port?
switch to aeroports and your box can be smaller

it can be 32" wide, 16.5" tall and less than 20" deep. tuned to 33 hz and sub displacement for both subs is .28 cu ft total.

i 3rd the aero port. they are more effeicent then a slot port hence they can be smaller in area and still flow as much if not more than a slot 1.5x the area or more.

use 2 4" aeros 13" long for you box and ur set.

make the box 32x15.5x18.5
those are external measurements and it will give u a total volume of 4.25ish after everything(no braces but u could add 1 2x2 and it wouldn't effect anything too much but besides stiffen the box up)

that is a box with subs and port all on the same face all firing back.

are you sure that's 4.25 cu ft? before any displacement i come up with 4.2 cu ft. also, how do i adjust the length of the aero ports?

would depend on if you made them or bought psp or precsion aero ports. if they were made by some1 like me you can't adjust them since they are a 1 piece port unless you bought just flares and glued couplers on them then you can make them as long as u want.

it was 4.21 or so but that .04 wont make a difference.
